Chiropractic Care at Medicine Wheel Wellness

Chiropractic medicine is an alternative and complementary form of therapy that concentrated on the musculoskeletal system and the effects this has on the nervous system and health in general. There are a variety of treatment techniques that chiropractors can use. The most commonly used technique is spinal manipulation. This involves taking the joint past the normal range of movement, then using a sudden force creating a release accompanied by an audible sound. Other procedures in the chiropractic therapy include giving nutritional and dietary recommendations, encouraging physical fitness and exercise, Trigger Point Therapy and postural advice.

Active Release Technique

ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

Graston Technique

The Graston Technique® is an advanced form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, which incorporates the use of six patented stainless steel instruments. GT enables clinicians to effectively treat the adverse effects of scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and is thought to help accelerate the healing process. It can be used on patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic conditions in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality.
