Level 1-2: These mild-moderate exertion level classes are designed and taught as a progression from injury rehab, for those who are new to fitness or for athletes who are looking for a lighter workout to focus on the essentials of form, stability and injury prevention.

Level 2-3: These moderate-high exertion level classes are designed for those who have developed a basic foundation in fitness and are looking for a dynamic workout to focus on progression toward fitness goals, athletic performance, and sports specific function.

Your body's core muscles are so central to posture and movement, both daily and athletic.  Sure, a 6 pack is sexy, but a functional core will improve your movements patterns, decreasing the risk of injury and increasing your body's strength and stability.

This class initiates our progressive “Mountain Tribe” Winter Sports Performance Program, Oct 2-Nov 30th but is also a drop-in option at anytime.

Achieve optimal sports performance, prevent injury, and reach new heights in your health and well-being. Our Durability & Conditioning Class emphasizes Intentional Movement, Active Recovery, Alignment, Technique, Cardiovascular Health, balance, flexibility, efficiency.

Schedule: This class is offered Monday evenings 6:45-8pm in the Fitness Studio at Medicine Wheel Wellness & Excel Physical Therapy Gym and Tuesdays 6:30am (program option includes choice on 1 class time either Monday eve or Tues AM)

Recover from mental stress and the physical wear on your body. Strengthen, gain mobility, and stability in your core as you ease your body through a relaxed warm up and dynamic movements such as foam rolling, stretching, balance, and gentle strengthening to create more durability and longevity in your life so you can do the things you live better, longer, and stronger.

Mat Pilates emphasizes the fundamentals of core stability, flexibility, and strength. With a focus on finding your neutral pelvis and spine, this class is ideal for those recovering from injury ready to progress into full function and for those who want emphasis on form and foundation to prevent injury, enhance activity level, and improve sports performance.

Strength Circuit has been designed to provide a total body workout emphasizing mobility, core stability, strength, and cardiovascular health using functional bodyweight exercises, kettlebells, steel maces, TRX suspension straps and a variety of tools from your instructors.  We keep you safe while making you strong and confident, preventing injury and moving your fitness to the next level.

This class is the higher level strength/plyometrics portion of our progressive “Mountain Tribe” Holistic Winter Sports Performance Program Oct 2-Nov 30th with drop-in option available at anytime. Emphasis in on strength, sports performance, speed, power, agility, and plyometrics based on SportsMetrics, an evidence-based ACL/knee injury prevention program.


Schedule: This class is offered every Thursday 6:45-8pm and 6:30-7:30am in the Fitness Studio at Medicine Wheel Wellness & Excel Physical Therapy Gym 

Mountain Tribe members have option of AM OR PM class.

Drop-in: $18 each class, MWW member punch cards accepted on first come, first served basis

Recover from mental stress and the physical wear on your body. Strengthen, gain mobility, and stability in your core as you ease your body through a relaxed warm up and dynamic stretches. Release myofascial tightness, lengthen muscles and improve balance by using a foam roller, stretching techniques, yoga, and neuromuscular drills.

You will be challenged in the second half to develop total body strength, balance, mobility, cardio, and endurance in a conditioning format workout that incorporates the TRX suspension training system. Suspension training is excellent for assisting in challenging movements, and the difficulty is controlled by each individual.

TRX yoga suspension training is a great way to build strength, endurance, and increase flexibility and balance. The straps allow you to be supported in difficult positions, as well as increase or decrease your own personal level of difficulty.This class will focus on using the breath with Yoga inspired movements while using classic suspension training techniques.

Lower Body Conditioning is ideal for those recovering from a knee injury or looking to prevent injury and enhance performance by improving form, function, balance, strength, and stability. Learn exercises to strengthen, stabilize, and mobilize your lower body to improve your knee health and get in shape for that next adventure.

This class will emphasize rotator cuff and scapular stabilization exercises which can decrease symptoms associated with impingement, instability, biceps tendonitis, as well as postural imbalances. Our Upper Body Conditioning classes are ideal for those recovering from a shoulder, spine or other upper body injuries or for those looking to prevent injury and improve posture, function and stability.

With low back pain as the most common cause of pain in the United States and back injury as the leading and most expensive cause of workers’ compensation claims (Boston Medical Center) it’s no wonder yoga has become a saving grace for some as a cost effective alternative to other treatment.
 
Join us for this educational and movement based class to increase awareness and attention to your "Back Body".  Release stress, compression, and tension, improve mobility, stability, coordination, balance, and strength to decrease pain, prevent injury, and enhance sports performance for better function and a more fulfilling life.

This gentle yoga practice helps you connect breath to movement to gain greater clarity for the mind.  New breathing techniques are introduced each class to aid with a variety of life's stressors.  In other words, join Rebecca for a a feel good, all body yoga class to let go of the outside world and tune inward all through learning to use the breath! This class emphasizes breath, postural foundation, flexibility, and stability through gentle yoga postures. Whether you are recovering from an injury or looking to prevent one, this class will assist with developing a pain-free practice.

Join us for this lunch time decompression yoga class as a nice end to the weekday. The class will primarily focus on gentle, relaxing, restorative poses to benefit both the body and mind.  Poses will be performed on the ground as well as in the aerial yoga hammocks.  Class will end in some fun variations of Savasana such as cocoon in the aerial yoga hammocks!
 
Details: 
  • Aerial Hammocks will be set about 10 inches off the ground for more restorative poses vs. full inversions done in more acrobatic classes.

Restorative Yoga-Touch incorporates holding longer passive yoga poses on the floor supported by props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks to stretch, reduce physical tension and mental stress while restoring breath and clarity of intentions. Therapeutic-grade essential oils are diffused into the air and applied topically to ease emotions and promote a healthy body while crystal sound bowls play to  create an energetic flow in the room for further release. Find a balance of energies with Yin Yang Yoga to honor both the passive, cool, internal with the active, warm, external. We will start class honoring the active day with a vinyasa flow and standing poses to invigorate the muscles, then finish off the second half of class with static sitting poses to focus on stretching the ligaments and tendons to replenish the synovial fluid of the joints.
